Storage & Handling Guidelines
To ensure the longevity and performance of your MagNXT MgO panels, please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Indoor Storage: Always store panels indoors to protect them from the elements.
- Flat Stacking: Stack panels flat on dunnage (wooden supports) to prevent warping.
- Avoid Ground Contact: Never store panels directly on bare ground, as this can lead to moisture absorption.
- Vertical Carrying: Carry boards vertically to protect the edges from damage.
- No Overloading: Avoid bowing or stacking excessive materials on top of the panels.
Tools Needed

Utility or carbide scoring knife

Circular saw (dust-reducing, outdoor use)

Cement board shears or Dremel for curves

Safety gear, gloves, mask, goggles

Adhesive, seam filler, fasteners, Putty
Acclimation
Remove packaging and allow boards to acclimate for 48 hours in the installation space at expected temperature/humidity.
Placement & Orientation
- Leave 1/16” gap (metal studs) or 1/8” gap (wood studs) between boards
- Rough side faces outward when tiling
- Start layout to minimize cuts; keep cuts to perimeter
- Maintain 1/8” expansion gap around room edges
Installation Tips
Follow these essential guidelines for installing our MgO panels effectively and ensuring a durable finish.
Use carbide tools for straight cuts and a Dremel for curves to achieve precise edges.
Ensure the frame is square and level to maintain structural integrity during installation.
Install panels on 16″ centers and support all edges for optimal stability.
Apply adhesive along seams and remove any excess to prevent visible marks.
Check the level after each board installation to ensure a flawless finish.

Fastening Guidelines
Use 316 stainless steel or cement-board-rated ceramic-coated fasteners for optimal performance and longevity.
- Wood: #8 flat head, high/low threads
- Metal: #8 self-drilling, flat head with nibs
Fastener Pattern
- 6” OC perimeter, 12” OC center
- ≥4” from corners, 9/16” from edges
- Avoid 45° angles
- Work across board to avoid stress
Safety Notes

- Wear safety glasses and dust mask during cutting/sanding
- Never dry sweep; use HEPA vacuum or wet suppression
- Avoid direct contact with galvanized steel—use barrier if needed
- Always follow building codes (local/state/federal)
